CRYO is a non-tradable, off-chain, in-game currency in Moonfrost that players have been able to earn during the alpha releases and early access.

Note - CRYO used to be called SHARDS. The name was changed as another game on Open Loot, World Shards, has a token called SHARDS and also SHARDS exist in Big Time and Shatterpoint.

What is CRYO for?

In the absence of having a live, trading token we needed an in-game currency that will be similar to FROST. At some point around the Token Generation Event for FROST, players will be able to swap CRYO for Mystery Boxes to obtain Collectable Items, FROST, or alternatively you spend it in-game in place of FROST. Spending CRYO in-game will have a better value proposition than swapping them for FROST.

How do you obtain CRYO?

CRYO can only be obtained through gameplay and as prizes on our social media channels and Discord. They will continue to be rewarded during early access, up until FROST becomes available.

Will CRYO disappear once FROST exists?

CRYO won't disappear but they will no longer be given out as rewards once FROST is available.

Will CRYO be converted to FROST?

CRYO won't automatically be converted to FROST. You will get to choose what to spend CRYO on which will include FROST.

What happens to the CRYO I obtained from the alpha releases if I can't access Open Loot?

Your CRYO won't vanish, however, web3 rewards will only be claimable through Open Loot (for now).
