The Player

When players start a new game in Moonfrost, they are given a choice three avatars to play as. This is a temporary choice which will later be replaced once character creation and customisation is added to the game at a later date.

Currently this choice is permanent and cannot be changed.

The avatar chosen does not impact gameplay in any way and is purely visual.

It should be noted that this choice will eventually be replaced with Character Customisation once it has been added to the game!

Stamina

The Stamina Bar is located in the top-left corner of the HUD.

Maximum Stamina will increase ever 5 levels, you gain

XP

Every player in Moonfrost has a FROST Hunter Rank (i.e. player level) which can be levelled up by earning XP.

The XP Bar is located in the top-left corner of the HUD.

Day Cycle

The time of day advances in the game world of Moonfrost which is reflected by the UI in the top-left corner of the HUD.

The in-game time of day is communicated in the top-left corner of the HUD.

30 seconds of real-world time equates to 1 hour of in-game time.

In the future, the time of day will influence the fauna and flora of Moonfrost’s game world, meaning that certain items would only be available during certain times of day.

It should be noted that there is no calendar in Moonfrost, i.e. going from day, to night and back to daytime does not mean players have moved forward a day.

Inventory

The Inventory allows players to store a limited number of items which can be accessed at any time and can be accessed via the TAB hot-key and the Hot Bar Icon.

It is organised into 4 rows of 8 items slots.

Each slot may contain 1 item type per slot.

Items of the same type are stacked to a maximum value before a new stack must be created and occupy another slot in the inventory.

Item stacks can be moved around the Inventory by clicking on them, causing them to become affixed to the cursor, and clicking on an empty slot to re-place them.

Players may discard a single item from an item stack or the entire stack by clicking on the respective ‘Discard’ boxes while an item stack is affixed to the cursor.

Smartphone

The Smartphone is essentially the player’s “main menu” for accessing different UI, including:

Using and harvesting from the ground requires Stamina which recharges slowly over time.

Certain special objects in the world indicated by a unique glow, such as the large spire of FROST located in the middle of the , can recharge Stamina at a faster rate for a limited time when nearby.

XP can be earned by completing and activating , the current cap is level 40 or (22,810 XP)

Levelling up will award inventory size expansions at levels 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 whilst increasing your maximum which gives access to new in-game locations and/or features.

Players can upgrade the size of their Inventory by levelling up their FROST Hunter Rank and owning the
